At Contrive 3D, our experienced technicians are here to help makers, hobbyists, and business owners across West Texas and beyond keep their printers running at peak performance. Whether your machine needs a tune-up, has a puzzling issue, or requires a full repair, simply send it our way—we’ll get you back to printing in no time.
Local Diagnostics: $125 + tax**
Repair Rate: $45–$65 per hour, plus the cost of parts* and materials*
Whenever possible, we use OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts to ensure quality and compatibility. If OEM parts are discontinued, unavailable, or if you request aftermarket alternatives, we’ll discuss all options with you before proceeding.
Pickup & Drop-Off: Our diagnostics fee includes up to 10 miles of travel from 105 Clovis Rd, Shallowater, TX 79363. Additional mileage is billed at $1.50 per mile. To help minimize travel costs, we also offer convenient meetup locations in public areas around Lubbock and Shallowater—perfect for clients visiting from out of town.

Our Diagnostic Process - Simple, Transparent, and Hassle-Free
1. Initial Contact
Reach out to us with a detailed description of the issues you're experiencing. Feel free to include photos or videos to help us better understand the problem—this allows us to start troubleshooting right away.
2. Printer Pickup
We'll coordinate a pickup time that works for you. If you prefer a contactless option, you can give us permission to pick up your printer while you're away. Just make sure it’s ready to go—we do not enter homes to disconnect or retrieve equipment.
3. Full Diagnostic Evaluation
Our team will perform a comprehensive diagnostic test to identify the root of the issue. You’ll receive a detailed report along with a repair estimate, usually within 7 business days.
4. Approve or Decline Repairs
Once you review the findings, you can choose to proceed with the repairs or decline them. If you approve, we’ll send an invoice for both the diagnostic and repair costs. If you decline, we will schedule a time to return the printer to you.
5. Repair Timeline
Upon approval and payment, repairs begin. Most are completed within 14–28 days, depending on parts availability—some components may need to be sourced from overseas.
6. Return Delivery
After repairs are complete (or if repairs are declined), we’ll schedule a convenient time to return your printer.

All appointments must be booked at least 24 hours in advance, and a non-refundable deposit is required to secure your slot. This deposit will be invoiced immediately after booking, and must be paid within 24 hours of booking and no later than 24 hours before your scheduled time—otherwise, your appointment will be canceled.
The full diagnostic fee is due at the time of service and can be prepaid by invoice or paid upon arrival using debit, credit, Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, or cash. Once your appointment is booked, you’ll receive an email within 24 hours to confirm your appointment and collect the required deposit.

Important Information & Service Terms
Pickup & Delivery: Diagnostic pricing includes printer pickup and drop-off within 10 miles. Distance is calculated from 105 Clovis Rd, Shallowater, TX 79363. For distances beyond 10 miles, a mileage fee of $1.50 per mile applies.
Firmware Notice: At this time, we do not offer firmware compilation services—our focus is strictly on mechanical repairs and upgrades. Most firmware updates are provided by the manufacturer. If you are looking for something specific there are many people on Fiverr that compile firmware.
Nationwide Repairs: We proudly accept 3D printers from across the United States for repair. Customers are responsible for securely packaging their machines and covering all shipping costs both to and from our facility.
Parts Policy: OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts are always used when available. If OEM parts are discontinued or unavailable, we’ll discuss alternatives with you before proceeding. If aftermarket or second-hand parts are preferred, the request must be made in writing.
